So lately I've been really into taking good care of my hair. I'm sick of having split ends and all that jazz. In addition to heat protecting my hair I've also started using various hair products: from dry shampoos, hot oils, deep conditioners and split end menders.
This review is about John Frieda's Frizz-Ease 3 Day Straight Semi-Permanent Styling Spray. When I first heard about this stuff I thought it was a fantastic idea, but also too good to be true. I've been using this product for well over a month so I've gotten plenty of use out of it.
This is what John Frieda says about this product: "Transform curly, frizzy hair into a straight, smooth style that lasts up to 3 days. *Designed to work with your flat iron, this weightless spray with heat protection blocks out frizz as you straighten. A revolutionary blend of polymers with keratin protein wraps each strand, sealing in straight style for up to 3 days.* Keeps hair glossy, smooth and swinging with body. Safe for colour-treated and chemically-treated hair. *Or until your next shampoo if less than 3 days." This comes in 150 ml and costs somewhere between $9-$12 depending where you go. I got mine at Shopper Drugmart.
This product is a thin consistency liquid that you spritz onto wet or damp hair then blow dry and style as usual. This product has a great smell that I cant quite put min finger on, its a nice scent. Its a tad on the strong side when you first spray it on but after you dry it, the smell is light and present. This product does not weigh down my hair at all.
As far as the claims that it will keep your hair straight for three days (or until your next shampoo) I feel is incorrect. This product claims to be "for curly hair" which I don't have, I have wavy hair, so its not like I'm working this product to its extreme by having insanely tight curly hair. This product works great at keeping my hair straight throughout the day, it keeps the ends of my hair from flipping out, which I love. When bed time rolls around though I wake up to my normal wavy hair.
The only saving grace that this product has it that it seems to reactivate when I straighten my hair the day after first putting the product in my hair. Throughout the day it stays straight also, which is great. This stuff also leaves my hair shiny and silky.
Overall I think that this is a great product. I'm not sure how well it would work of people with really curly hair. I don't think that if your wanting your hair to be pin straight for three days that you'll be happy with this product, because for me that just didn't happen you do need to do morning "touch ups" (They do tell you that though in the Frizz Ease Instructions on John Frieda's website ) . I will buy this product again though because for me throughout the day it keeps my hair straight and its a bonus that it smells really good.
Good review ^^ I have kind of wavy/curly and thick hair but I feel like this will be a good product to keep my hair straight! It's good to know that the product will reactivate every time I straighten my hair again c:
