Blueberry Banana Matcha Green Tea Smoothie

For the past few weeks I've been having smoothies for breakfast, I've really come to prefer them over my old breakfast of peanut butter or nutella and toast. They're so much more filling, there are endless ingredient options, you get a few servings of fruit and/or vegetables for the day & a fair amount of your daily fiber.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 banana (I used a frozen one)
  • 1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder
  • 1/2 cup of almond milk (I used plain, unsweetened)
  • 3 tablespoons plain low fat yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons of ground flax seed
  • 1/2 cup frozen (no sugar added) blueberries
  • 1/2 cup water
Throw it all in your blender (or in my case a Magic Bullet) in the order listed and blend it until smooth.

I really like this smoothie because the most predominant flavor is the green tea powder, everything else kind of gets lost, the blueberries don't add much flavor and the banana just adds a hint of sweetness. The ground flax seeds really fill you up, so after this baby, I'm good until lunch time.

You can adjust the ingredients as you prefer, add a little extra sweetness with some vanilla yogurt or sweetened almond milk or throw in some protein powder for something extra to keep you full.

Aussie: Moist 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep Conditioner Review

For awhile now, I've been interested in trying out Aussie's Moist 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep Conditioner. A few months ago I went to Detroit so I picked up two bottles from a CVS.

They were having a 2 bottles for $5 sale. So for 5 bucks (plus tax) US, I got two bottles both containing 236 ml or 8 fl ounces.  On CVS's website it says they regularly retail for $4.29 before tax each.

I have oily hair, so in that past I have avoided conditioning, not realizing that this only made matters worse. Since using this conditioner, my hair is a lot less oily. I use this conditioner every time I wash my hair, but will probably cut down to twice a week in the summer. When I wash my hair, I have been getting into the habit of shampooing rinsing, shampooing again rinsing then conditioning. When I apply the conditioner I start from the tips of my hair up, so I end up with less product towards my roots.

The conditioner itself is fairly thick, is white in color and smells like coconut. The scent lingers in my hair after I use it, but its not a heavily perfumed smell, more of a light tropical scent.

I've seen a great improvement in my hair since using this conditioner. I'm really happy with the silkiness and shine this has added to my hair. The only thing that's an Issue for me is that this isn't for sale in Canada. The Aussie Moist line is for sale here, but this particular item isn't.

When I run out I will purchase it again. It is available for sale online, you can get it from amazon. If I don't end up going to the US any time soon, I'll probably just end up picking up a few bottles on eBay. To me its worth the mark up + the shipping.

All in all this is a really great product, that wont burn your pocket book.

Mixing Things Up..

I haven't posted in ages, I feel bad I haven't, but I'm not necessarily sorry.

I have a lot going on.

In the past few months my life has been non-stop crazy.

I won't get into massive details, but the biggest thing I have going on other then my second job (which I just recently quit) is planning my wedding... Er.. Engagement party. I got engaged back in early December, and since we're getting married in Las Vegas ( most likely at The Wynn, there will be no Elvis' in attendance! ) our engagement party is the big party for everyone here who will probably not end up coming to the actual wedding.

We've been looking at halls ( we're expecting around 200ish people ) center pieces, invitations, photographers etc. etc etc.

It just feels really never ending, we have so much to do.

On top of everything going on I kind of feel like blogging again. Not just "beauty" or "food" or fill in the blank. I kind of want a general blog. Where I can provide you all reviews on things that I'm trying out, on recipes I've found and loved, on products I love (or hate) just a mish-mash of everything.

Expect some visual changes, and some up coming "non-beauty" reviews.
